2 Months Old!

2 months ago Connor was born. Time is flying by! 2 months (and 4 days) from now we are moving across the country. I hope time slows down these next two months. :)

Connor is wooing us with his cute smiles and coos. He is a sweetheart and we love him to pieces! He is growing like a weed and I'm anxious to see how big he is at his doctor's appointment on Tuesday. Just today I put him in a 3-6 month outfit (above photo) and was surprised by how well it fit him. He may have started small, but I think this is going to be a big boy.

He's starting to sleep a little better. He takes longer naps during the day and he can go a little longer at night now and usually only wakes up to eat. He goes to bed earlier (I love early bedtimes!) and is sleeping in his crib in the same room as Eli! I was terrified of this at first, but I bought a sound machine (white noise thing) and it is the best investment ever. Eli hasn't ever woken up to him crying since we got that. Hooray! It's fun to go check on our boys in the same room at night before we go to bed. :)

Connor also has a giant outie belly button. The doctor says it's an umbilical hernia and will eventually go away, but it's kind of crazy! Jeremy thinks it's a little gross, but whatever. His hair also continues to be reddish, especially his eyebrows and the sides of his head. The top is half new, light short growth and half really long dark hair, but it usually lays flat so you can't really tell. So basically his hair is a little wild, but it's cute.

Anyway, so that's a little about Connor these days! Enjoy some more pictures from yesterday's bath and today's photo shoot. :)

More Cuteness

I decided to take a video of Connor today because he was so smiley! Enjoy. Oh, and the spikey hair is courtesy of Jeremy. He gave him a bath last night and spiked his hair last night and now it's stuck like that until the next bath. :)
I should also mention that I ventured out on my own last night to run a few errands and Jeremy bathed both children and got them both to sleep! I was only gone a little over an hour and when I got home he said, "I don't know how you survive everyday." Haha. He did amazing though! And it was nice to have a little alone time. :)
Thanks babe!

Brother Love

This was too cute to not share. Eli's been reading Connor "lotsa books" for the past 10 minutes or so and it put Connor right to sleep.
Eli's been really sweet to Connor lately - bringing him toys and even his favorite stuffed animals. Of course he randomly hits him or throws things at him (or puts cereal in his mouth - yikes!), but overall he's been a very good brother. Connor seems to adore the attention and is always smiling when Eli's near him. It's very cute. I'm excited for these two to be best of friends. :)

A Brief Update

I am really lacking in the sleep department lately, so I apologize for not blogging more often (mostly apologizing to my mom who keeps asking for more pictures) :). We are moving in just over 2 months and there is much to do! I told my mom I feel like I'm so busy just trying to maintain any sort of cleanliness in the house and taking care of these 2 kiddos, I hardly have any extra time for things like blogging or PACKING!! Yikes.

Anyway, but I'm enjoying my boys a whole lot. They bring me much happiness and even though Connor has yet to ever sleep more than 3 hours at a time (AHHH!!!) - and that has only happened a handful of times - I am happy and I'm somehow still functioning. :)

We had a really fun weekend. Friday afternoon, Jeremy's brother Jared, his wife Mimi, and their cute kids Ben and Lucy came to our house! We hadn't seen Mimi and the kids since May of last year when Jonathan got married (and now he and his wife are expecting! yea!) Jared and Mimi drove all the way from Virginia in a big moving truck and stopped here before finishing on to their new home in Nevada. We are excited they are out here, but sad that now we're moving to the east coast! Oh well. So we had a great visit with them. Eli loved playing with Ben and Lucy and was sad to see them go Saturday morning.
Then Saturday we had a fun family outing to Ross and IKEA. We got Eli some new sandals at Ross, Jeremy some shorts, and then had fun checking out everything at IKEA - ending with a yummy lunch at the IKEA restaurant. I love family days! I've also decided I will never shop anywhere besides Ross and IKEA. Great prices! Love it. IKEA has so many space saving ideas which is great because we are moving into a teeny apartment in Pittsburgh (more to come on that later).

On Sunday, Heidi and her "beau" Sam came over. We ate yummy Greek food, caught up on everything, and only razzed them a little bit (she's the youngest and in her first big-ish relationship - it had to be done). Eli loves his Aunt Heidi and was very happy to see her since it had been awhile.

So that was our fun weekend! I also have some random cute pictures of the boys. Did I mention Connor's hair is turning RED? Crazy. It'd so cute though. I love how completely different Eli and Connor look. Hopefully someday they'll at least look like they could be related, but for now it's fun to have the variety! Here you go...

His hair looks really red in these pictures, because the sun was shining on it through the window.
Mother's Day flowers from Jeremy:
Fun at the park!
The pack mule.
Blossoms in our front yard!
Cute.
Enjoying blackberries on our oatmeal pancakes. :)
Escaped arm!
I guess there wasn't anything brief about that, huh? By the way, anyone have any suggestions for getting an 8 week old to sleep? In a typical night he wakes up every 1-2 hours and I feed him every 3. And I feed him every 2 during the day. He's obviously not starving, and I think he should be going at least a little longer at night. Let me know if you have any tips! I'm a walking zombie...

2 Years Old and a lot of other things

I'm over a week late writing about this, but Eli is now two! His birthday was last week and we had a fun low-key evening full of tacos (he loves Mexican) and banana monkey cake. Eli got some great presents from his grandparents and has been enjoying them immensely ever since.
Below - playing with the tools he got from Grammy and Papa. He absolutely LOVES his new tool box full of tools to "fix it" - 'it' being anything and everything. He's a very handy guy. :) These are great because they look much more realistic than his other set (he has a lot of tools) but they're just plastic - mostly harmless. They also got him a little soccer ball that he loves - especially now that the weather is finally warming up!
Opening his presents from Grandma and Grandpa.
Reading and wearing one of the cute shirts my mom got him. He always says "New shirt from Grandma!" when I put him in one of his new shirts. :)
I've been meaning to document all the funny things he's been saying lately so I'm finally going to write down a few. I wish I would remember to write them down as they happen, because I always forget, but here are a few anyway.
  • To Connor: "Hey sweetie" "Hey buddy" or "So cute!" all in a high-pitched voice
  • The other day when I asked him a question, he held up his pointer finger and said "One second." Oh boy.
  • "I call Grandma" or "I text Daddy". Another oh boy.
  • "Awesome" "Good job" - said to himself all the time :)
  • "Really handsome" when he gets dressed for church
  • "Mommy hold you!" (when he wants me to hold him)
  • He often recites lines from his books over and over to himself - I love that
  • "I sleep well" when he gets up from a nap
  • "Mmm. I like it." when eating something he likes
  • "Eli do it!" about 150 times a day. He likes to do everything I do - by himself. Mr. Independent.
  • "I fix it" pronounced "fissik"
He loves to help around the house and is actually sweeping the floor right now as I'm typing this - or at least that's what he says he's doing. :) He's dragging the broom all around anyway. He also likes to attempt to dress himself lately, which is always an adventure. He's a fun kid and we are enjoying him so much. It's been a little bit of a challenge to balance my time between the two boys, but it's getting easier and luckily he's been pretty good about it.
Which brings me to the next boy! Connor just exploded this week - in size that is; well let's be honest, in poop too :). He had a huge growth spurt earlier in the week - eating ALL the time, and he is really filling out. Just the past couple days we keep commenting on how big he seems! I was curious how much he weighed, so I had Jeremy weigh himself and then weigh him with Connor, and Connor is up to almost 12.5 pounds! That means he's gained almost 4 pounds from his 2-week check up 4 1/2 weeks ago. Crazy. I'm hoping with this increase in size we'll see an increase in sleep....

His face is also really clearing up from a bad bout of acne he had, and he's just such a cutie pie! The pictures don't do him justice. I love when babies start to fill out and get all squishy and extra kissable. :) He also started smiling this week! It's amazing how all the sleepless nights seem to be excusable when they give you that first real smile. It was so fun and we are enjoying trying to get him to smile all the time now. He loves to watch Eli and it's fun to see him smile at him.

His hair is also getting crazy. It's totally receding, so he's got the old man look going on, but the part that's still there is getting really long, so he looks a little crazy sometimes. Especially when I spike it right after a bath...like I did last night. :)
I just couldn't resist. And here are a few more pictures of Connor.

Cute. Smiling at Eli.
