Time for some serious catching up

February was an insane month. It went by so fast I'm still having a hard time processing that it's March and I'm due in 2 weeks!!!

Before I catch up in order though, I first want to share that my amazing Grandfather passed away on Thursday, February 24th. It was a bit unexpected for us - not completely - but it happened pretty quickly and it was hard to believe he was really gone. He got diagnosed with a lung disease the end of last summer, but had been doing fine until less than a week before he died. He had some complications, went to the hospital on a Monday, and they discovered he had several blood clots in his lungs. He was having trouble getting enough oxygen and within a few days he was gone.

My grandparents have lived in Sandy for the past 17 or so years (before that they lived near us in California) and we are so grateful we've been able to live near them these past few years. I've lived in Utah for almost 8 years now, and 3 of those have been here in Sandy, about 15 minutes from them. They are both such great examples to everyone, and while it's hard to see my Grandpa go, it's wonderful that he left such a positive impact on everyone he knew. He was so gentle and kind, so spiritual and full of faith, and so loving and caring to all of us.

We had a beautiful funeral for him this last Tuesday and it was great to hear stories and be reminded that families are FOREVER! What a blessing. We also had several musical numbers - including my mom and sisters and I all singing "Where Can I Turn for Peace". It was a wonderful, inspiring meeting and I was so glad all of my siblings could be there.

After the funeral we went to the grave and my dad gave the Grave Dedication prayer. It's just been so nice to be with family this past week and to talk about what a wonderful man Grandpa was. I'm sure he's already hard at work on the other side and again I'm so grateful for the amazing influence he was in my life. Here are several pictures from the events throughout the day on Tuesday:

(from the program):
(As I've mentioned, my 2 older sisters are also pregnant - due mid-April and the end of May - so of course we had to take some "tummy" pictures. I don't look very happy in this picture, but I was happy, I promise).
And here is a link to his obituary if you care to read it. He was such a wonderful grandpa and I will really miss him.

Sarah thank you for taking time to blog about grandpa. He really was an amazing man and we all loved him so much. I miss him and yet I am happy we know we are an eternal family. It was so special to be there with everyone and feel our families unity and love.
