I was excited to go with Connor to his first field trip! They went to a farm in Kentucky, the same place Eli went two years ago on his kindergarten field trip (can I just say how cool it is that we've lived somewhere long enough for something like that to happen? yeah, it's awesome). Anyway, he was such a cutie and held my hand a lot and stuck close to me. I loved it! I was happy I could go and spend some one on one time with him away from his siblings, since that's something that doesn't happen very often.
Connor's class only has 15 kids in it, which is so great. They stayed together as a group the whole time, so it was really easy chaperoning since we had about a 2-1 kid-chaperone ratio. I pretty much just got to hang with Connor and help with a few of the farm tasks, like helping kids feed the goats and wash their hands and stuff. Super hard.
The kids all got to feed the baby goats with a bottle, milk a goat, brush a miniature horse, gather eggs, hold baby chicks, dig and plant in the garden, pet lots of animals, and learn about life on the farm. It was a fun day!
I was on week 3 of shingles and felt pretty miserable by the end of the trip, but I was still glad I went. I love this kid!
I was grateful for a friend of mine who watched the girls for me in the morning, and for Jeremy for taking a long lunch to get them home and down for naps until I got home.
