2 weeks old

First of all, Happy Mother's Day yesterday! I am so grateful to have a wonderful mother and mother-in-law. We were lucky to see both of them recently. Jeremy's parents, sister & her kids were here a couple weeks ago and they stayed just long enough to come see us and the baby in the hospital. It was so nice to have them be there and join in our joy of welcoming our son into the world. Then a couple days later my mom came and she was a lifesaver. She left last Sunday night and I really wish she could have stayed longer. She spoiled us by fixing delicious meals, cleaning the whole house and making sure I rested a lot. Thanks to both of our moms for being so wonderful!

Well, I know I've been a bad blogger lately, so I'm going to try and repent. Last week was pretty rough, I'm not going to lie, and pretty much any free time I had was spent trying to get some rest. My mom left last Sunday night and Jeremy was back to work and I was just a little overwhelmed with lack of sleep, pain from recovery and just trying to figure out this whole motherhood thing. Anyway, after a nice weekend with a lot of help from Jeremy I'm feeling much more rested and recovered.

So now what you all want. More pictures of our baby! He is two weeks old today and he's doing really well. I think his hair is thinning a bit on the top, so he looks a little like a balding man, but he's still so cute! Here's some recent photos:

Yes, we want more pictures. I cannot believe how big he is getting. I am glad you were able to get some rest this past weekend. I hope you had wonderful Mother's Day!

You have a great looking kid on your hands. I remember the first few weeks after Ben came home, Mimi spent about a week in be teaching him how to nurse. You will have hard days, but you will cherish the memories forever.

Sarah you are such a trooper! I enjoyed being there with you, Jeremy and baby Eli. I am so sorry I could not have stayed longer. I love you and think you are the most wonderful mother! It really will get easier and you will look back on these days and be proud of how well you got through them! Little Eli is so cute. I miss him so much and I love looking at the pictures.

Eli looks so great!

Hang in there. You're doing fine. These early days only last a little while. They are hard but precious.

He is so handsome!!!

It gets easier... but not as quick as I always think it should. I remember feeling mostly human around one month, and partially capable as a mother around 3-4 months. I don't think "normal" ever came back, but we just made a new "normal." It's hard, though!!! I'm sure you're doing a great job, even if you're not sure if you are (because I never was)!!!

I think the one month mark was when I started to get a routine. Sometimes just give him to Jeremy when he gets home and take a step back. You don't have to do everything either.

Eli is a little handsome stud. I love his lounging on the sofa picture. too cute!

The first little while is pretty rough - but it does get easier and as you can already see, it's worth it. Keep on keepin' on.

Wow...he is cute! He looks so alert already! I am amazed you still have time to blog. I know how hard the adjustment period is when you first have a baby! It sounds like you are doing great!

Oh Sarah, he's gorgeous! I bet you're doing an awesome job. The first week alone is rough, but it gets better. And you know that, I'm sure. Just know you're not alone, and don't ever let yourself feel like you're doing a bad job. You're an incredible woman, and totally a natural momma. You're doing great! Isn't is so wonderful, though? Being a mom? I can totally tell you are head over heels in love with him. But how could you not be! He's amazing!

You have a beautiful baby boy, and you sound like you are really getting the hang of early motherhood (sleeplessness, exhaustion, exhilaration, self-doubt, overwhelming feelings of love.) You will be fine. Just remember that you can't do it alone; the Lord expects us to call on him for help!
