We're alive!!! We made it to Alabama. We don't have internet yet, but we managed to get on long enough to post a few pictures (okay, a lot of pictures and it's taken me 2 days). We drove through 7 beautiful states to get here. It was wonderful! More to come later.
Leaving Pittsburgh...
West Virginia - green, hilly, and beautiful
Entering Virginia...
Forgot to get a picture of Tennessee, but here's North Carolina - GORGEOUS!
The Great Smoky Mountains!!! Breathtaking!
Entering Cherokee, NC. Jeremy has Cherokee ancestors that lived here, so that was really neat, and we actually stayed here that night!
Our KOA in Cherokee. We didn't have space to bring the gear necessary to
really camp, so this was a nice in-between.
Hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park the next day:
Love these faces!
Driving through Atlanta...
Alabama the Beautiful!!! Dang pole, it's hard to snap a picture when you're speeding down the freeway.
And beautiful it is...
One of the many mansions we passed on the way from Montgomery to Troy...
Almost there!

Hooray!

Woohoo! I have so much to say about the amazing generosity people have already shown us and the sweet people we have already met, but I want to get this posted before I lose my connection again! In short, we are very grateful to be here, we're settling in as quickly as we can, and are looking forward to getting to know Alabama more!

Woohoo!!! :) This is so exciting! Wow, your drive looked GORGEOUS (and much more exciting than the drive from Utah to Iowa...). I can't wait for the next post! :)
My goodness! I forget how GREEN it is in other places of the world. Beautiful!
Wow what beautiful pictures! I love all the different states. I love the camping pictures too. I love the boys and their happy smiles. You are such a beautiful family!!
It's great to see your pictures! It's really fun to have someone else in the family live and travel through some (or near) the places we've lived and traveled through! Have you heard any loud cicadas or other bugs in all those beautiful trees yet? :) They really are beautiful. Michael used to always say he got tired of all the trees and missed the open spaces of the west. I can see both sides. The views are nice in the west, but I think the plentiful trees are so gorgeous also. It's like the Garden of Eden.
what a trip! hope you guys are enjoying your new place.
Wow- those pictures are amazing! I love how you think to take pictures of street signs and such. Very cool. What an adventure! I wish I could come hike through those mountains with you.
