One of my biggest projects for Christmas was a gift for myself. Not exactly selfless I know, but it will hopefully be a family heirloom. I converted the first three years of our blog into a book and I'm so excited to get it! I used blurb.com to do it, and you download a program where you can arrange all the photos and posts and everything. It took me many hours, but 240 pages and 1100 pictures later, I finished it! It's getting sent to my parents' house since we'll be there for Christmas, so I'm excited to see how it turned out. I was really surprised how inexpensive it was. I was willing to pay quite a bit for such a book, but it didn't break the bank too much. It's hard bound and on premium paper, so it should be really nice. I don't scrapbook at all, so I wanted a hard copy of our memories. It's only "volume 1", so in another year or two I'll make another one. It also made me realize how great I used to be at blogging and how I better step it up again! Unfortunately I didn't start a blog until we'd been married for 3 years, so the first few years have no documentation, but oh well.
Anyway, we are very excited for the break. Jeremy has had a really busy few weeks finishing up his Capstone project, but he just presented it Thursday and Friday, so now he's done with that! Hooray! It was very time-consuming and huge, so he's feeling great to have that done. He got an award for being one of the top 5 team leaders and several people told me what a stud he was presenting. Yeah, he's pretty awesome. :) Also on Friday, we had our Christmas Party at church. It was a fun evening and to my great surprise, Eli actually participated in acting out the Nativity. Not to my surprise, he refused to dress up, but he was up there with all the kids, so that's progress! Santa also paid a visit, but my boys kept their distance. I'm not big on forcing my kids to sit on Santa's lap just so I can get a picture of them screaming with Santa, so we just looked from afar.
(not sure what Eli was supposed to be or what he was supposed to be doing, but maybe he was a shepherd admiring the baby Jesus?)
Our Christmas Program at church is tomorrow (I'm the choir director) and we have a Stake Music Fireside tomorrow night, but I think that is our last "event" until we leave! Jeremy just has a couple papers, a quiz, and class this week to finish up and then he's done. No finals this semester! We are excited to enjoy the warmer weather and spend lots of time playing outside in California. We'll be there for 3.5 weeks - yikes! - so hopefully no one gets too sick of us. It will be nice to spend a lot of time with everyone though. It's been a year since we've been there and it will be our last time going there for Christmas. We're ready to spend Christmas at home next year (and Jeremy obviously won't have an entire month off when he's working next year!)
Oh, and here are some other random pictures from the last bit:
Eli put his blankets on him and Connor and said he was Mary, Connor was Joseph, Jeremy was baby Jesus, and I was the donkey. How nice...
Connor looked like E.T. from behind waddling underneath the blanket. Hehe.
We also had fun making snowflakes. Eli said he wanted to make something for Christmas to hang up, so I thought snowflakes would be fun. He had a good time telling me what shapes to cut out, and the next day Jeremy got into it and made some too. They're kind of hard to see, but they're fun.
Connor's so cute, he sits on Jeremy's lap and says "Hands!" and wants him to hold his hands. He's a sweetie.
And some phone pictures I'm finally putting up...
Connor loves to take pictures of himself and look at them. This one was actually pretty cute!
And this is from the day after Thanksgiving when we went on our mini-city-tour with Heidi and Sam:
Triple berry pie from Thanksgiving. Yummmm:
Awhile back we went to the zoo for the zillionth time and finally saw the polar bear in the water!!! It was very exciting.
And that's all! Enjoy the weekend everyone!

I am so happy that you did a book of your blogs! Awesome and I loved all the pictures of your happy life and family. So sweet with Connor and Jeremy and "hands". So cute. I am so excited for you to come and I hope you won't get sick of us:). We love you and thanks for blogging!
Great post. We love your family! I tried to post again, but it still won't let me put up any pictures. Sigh.
My goodness! Those swimming bear pictures are amazing!! And Connor is getting so big! He's such a cutie. He reminds me of our Henri with his light hair and blue eyes. :)
