First Week of VACATION!!

We are enjoying the life of relaxation here in California.  Unfortunately, it is not the sunny California we hoped for - it's been raining and cold all week!  But it's been wonderful nonetheless.  We got here last Saturday night and I can't believe it's already been a week!

We're staying with my parents until the day after Christmas.  They moved a few months ago, so this is our first time staying in their gorgeous new house, and we're having a great time!  It's a small group this year, just my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, and us, but that means we have a lot of space and a lot of quiet down time, which is really nice!  The boys have been having a blast playing with legos, lincoln logs, and reading books.  Poor Connor has been sick the whole time, but I think he's finally on the uphill slope, so that's good.  He had a fever the whole time we traveled last Saturday and then threw up on Sunday, and has just been pretty miserable all week.  I've been pleasantly surprised though with how well they've adjusted to the time difference!  Last year was a very different story, so we're glad we've all had more sleep this time around.

I haven't taken a single picture with my camera, but I am having fun with my Dad's DSLR.  I said, "Can this be my Christmas present?"  Hehe.  Rrrriiiiggghht.  But it's fun to use it while we're here. :)  My mom took most of these pictures, and then I realized today I better start taking some!

Sunday morning reading Berenstain Bears.
 After church snack.
 After-church lincoln logs.

Sunday dinner.  My poor Dad was throwing up on Sunday too, and Steve and Yihua hadn't arrived yet, so it was just us and Mom.
We also went over to Jeremy's parents house twice this week.  We'll be going over there to stay on the 26th, but Jeremy and the boys went on Tuesday while my mom and I got haircuts, and then we all went for the day on Thursday.  Of course I forgot to take pictures!  But we had fun!  I'll take more next week...

Dinner last night - Indian Butter Chicken and homemade Naan.  Yum-o!  Oh, and Jeremy and I got to go to the temple yesterday without having to rush at all.  It was amazing!  We also did some shopping by ourselves earlier in the week.  Yea for grandparents babysitting!

Grandpa, Connor, and Yihua - Steve's girlfriend.  We LOVE her!  I don't have any pictures of Steve yet, because he was on Base all week working (he's in the Airforce Reserves), but he'll be around until Christmas, so I'll be sure to get some.

Connor helping Grandpa wrap presents. :)
And speaking of presents, holy smokes!  Is it Christmas yet?!?

Cuties.  Jeremy and Eli worked for several days making this awesome lego firetruck.
Of course, it took my help to finish. :)  (Just to find pieces, since my parents' bin of legos is gigantic).
And two more pictures of happy kids!

Yea for Christmas!!!

We are absolutely loving having time with Sarah, Jeremy, Eli and Connor. They have such a sweet family. I have to say we told Sarah and Jeremy all we wanted for Christmas was to use some of Jeremy's handyman skills! He is AMAZING!!! He has worked really hard figuring out our sound system, intercom, hanging pictures, and pretty much anything we needed. Dad and I have really appreciated him. Sarah is the most amazing cook and I could really get used to her living with me full time. She doesn't seem to want to do that. I told her I would clean up all the dishes if she cooked!! We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family and are enjoying our time with them!

Oh I have to say Sarah was the organizer behind hanging the family photos!

Great pictures, Sarah! It's fun to see what you guys are doing, and holy cow, that's quite a pile of presents! Have fun! I posted on my blog again, too, if you haven't seen it.
