The day my parents left, we also left at the same time for Jeremy's corporate picnic at "Coney Island". It's a small amusement/water park right on the Ohio River and it was lots of fun! It was perfect for little kids. We were really tired from the busy week and didn't plan to stay very long, but we ended up staying for over four hours. The company had a big pavillion where everyone gathered and had lunch. They had a balloon artist, a caricature artist, face painter, carnival games and prizes for the kids and popcorn and snow cones and all sorts of fun stuff. After we did all of that, we went over to the rides and the kids rode a bunch of the little rides. Anna was the only one who wanted to go on at first (my boys are very timid), but finally they were convinced to join their two year-old sister on the rides and they had a lot of fun.
Getting our pictures drawn. I would never pay to do something like this, but it was free and so fun! I can't wait to put them up somewhere.
We did one of Jeremy and I and one of the kids. Cute! I love that we kept Connor's hat on since he wears it everyday, and I also love that Jeremy and Eli's eyes look exactly the same, because that is very accurate. She even captured Connor's lopsided ears. Love it!

Riding the helicopters - excitement reigns.
Anna was the only one who tried the rocket ship. She loved it!
Connor on an airplane!
It was SO HOT AND MUGGY we were kind of miserable, but every once and a while a breeze would come and save us. We planned to go over to the giant pool after the rides, but when we got over there we changed our mind. We had remarked how not crowded the rides were and when we got to the pool we realized why. Everyone was over there! And the pool was huge! I read that it was built in 1925 and is 200 feet wide and 401 feet long (over 2 acres), making it the LARGEST flat surface pool in North America! Wow. I think a hot Saturday afternoon is
not the best day to try it out though. Holy smokes.
(Hard to see in the pic, but it was packed).
So we convinced the kids to just go home and go in the pool in our neighborhood instead. We'll plan better next year so we can have time to try it out.
About two minutes into the drive home, the car looked like this:
Haha. Everyone woke up when we got home though, and we took a quick dip in the pool and then headed over to our friends' house for a party, who also had a face painter. Again, Anna was the only one who wanted to do it. :) Pretty cute!
It was a busy but fun day! I felt like I was constantly sweating for about six hours, but I suppose I better get used to it, 'cause it's summertime!

Aw, that looks super fun! It totally cracks me up that Anna always out-dares the boys. She sure is adventurous! :)
What fun! I love that Anna is so brave. She will help encourage Connor and Eli.
