June 11th was our 11-year anniversary! We have yet to do anything besides go out to dinner for our anniversary, but one of these years we're going to get away! Even if it's just for a night. We got a babysitter for the three older kids and took Grace to a nicer-than-usual restaurant. She'd been pretty predictable at that point and we thought she'd sleep most of the time, but she ended up being awake and fussy through all of dinner, so that plan backfired a little bit. But it was still fun to have a night out! We took our dessert to go and enjoyed it after getting everyone to bed. (No coincidence that we have not tried going out since then...)
The boys took a 4-week karate class in June as well. Eli came home from school in March with a flier about it, and it was only $10 per kid! He really wanted to do it, so I decided to have he and Connor do it together. They really enjoyed it! We missed one of the classes because of our trip, but they both have said they'd love to do karate some more.
This was at their last class - chopping the board in half! Ninjas!!
Bowing...
Great job boys! They were so proud. :)
Also, on the 29th I turned 30! Woot woot! We got back from Utah two days before, so we hadn't planned on doing anything. Normally I love to go out for my birthday (you know, avoid the usual cooking and dishes), but I was actually tired of eating out and not burned out from cooking, so we stayed home. Jeremy felt bad we weren't doing anything, so when I got up that morning I found the kitchen decorated (with Grandma's leftover birthday decorations, hehe). I felt very loved. Thanks babe!
He even put up the birthday banner.. (and made me pose like the kids in front of it...don't worry his payback comes in August)
And I made some tasty chicken tacos with mango salsa! No complaints there!
