Portland Temple!

First off, lest some of you think I'm always planning fun things - we do plenty of boring regular things every day, I just don't blog about those. :)

(However, my personality is the type that gets cabin fever real quick, so I do like to get out - and that doesn't happen as much with 3 kids by myself, so I like to go do things when there's another adult around!)

SO, this week for Family Night we decided spur-of-the-moment to do a picnic at a park right by the temple.  The temple is closed for a few weeks, but we thought we could walk around and talk about it and look at it.  We were hoping to go in the Visitors Center too, but it's also closed except for Sundays.  So we'll have to go again!

We had all had dinner leftovers for lunch, so we ate sandwiches for dinner.  Happy day.
Handsome Jeremy met us there after work.
Exploring the park, of course picking a few berries that are everywhere.
Anna and I enjoying the relaxing time...
And the beautiful temple!  It's a little tricky finding the best place to take a picture with all these dang trees everywhere. ;) But it did come in handy when trying to hide one of the spires that they were doing some work on.

Ah, what a beautiful place.  They have so many beautiful flowers on the grounds too.
This week has turned out to be a busy one.  We had the missionaries over one night, the Ward Mission Leader another night, our landlord came by one night, and a friend from Singers who just moved here came over with her kids yesterday!  Jeremy and I also stayed up until midnight last night making some tasty peach jam.
It took about 2 hrs longer than I anticipated, but we had a good time spending some time doing something together.  So often at night we just kind of crash on the couch once the kids are [finally] asleep, which this week hasn't been until really late.  Our sweet little Anna has been struggling in the sleep department this week, so by the time she's done crying, we're usually ready for some sleep!
Funny Mom, I don't need sleep!

And this morning, I had to make one of life's tough decisions: homemade peach or blackberry jam to top the homemade bread?  I just couldn't choose.  Sigh.  It's a rough life.

Hah hah.. your clarification about only posting the fun stuff made me laugh! :D But isn't that so how it is. What kind of a blogger wants to write "did nothing today, brushed teeth and sat in the house". It's much more fun to read about the things you all do, and fun to see the sights in Portland through your pictures.
You family is so cute! And nothing like homemade jam, by the way! Yummy!!
