"Quick" Catch-Up

I have been emptying our memory cards onto our computer and going through pictures on my phone and realized there are a lot of things I missed blogging about. So...here we go.

We celebrated Jeremy's 35th birthday on August 29th! He's the easiest man to please and loves everything, so birthdays are always fun. I made Pad Thai with Shrimp for dinner and we had a Berry Crisp with vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was delish!
We are so lucky to have this handsome wonderful man in our lives. He is so selfless and cheerful and such a good example to me of loving life and finding joy in every "mundane" experience. I love him!
And these kids sure love their daddy!!
Yum-o! One of our new favorite gluten-free recipes!
Not much left! Yum.

Anna modeling one of Jeremy's shirts. :)
Early in September we had a visit from the Worshams! My lame self didn't get any pictures of Heidi and Sam :( but I did manage to get a few of Grace and Levi. It was so so great to have them all here!! We loved every second. And getting a decent picture of two 6-month olds proved to be a challenge...

Hahaha, yeah, like I said it was a challenge. But they are adorable!
And now some pictures from our phones...

Praying Mantis on top of Jeremy's car. They are big around here!

Leek from our garden! It went into a delicious ham, leek, and potato frittata for dinner.
Anna nursing her baby with me. :) She has become very motherly as of late, and it's very sweet.
Smale Riverfront Park downtown! Another item on our Cincinnati Bucket List. To be honest, it wasn't quite as awesome as it was hyped up to be, but we still had a good time getting to know the city a little more. And we had a very warm September, so it was nice to cool off in the fountains.
It was a beautiful day and a great view!
The backdrop of the beautiful Roebling bridge was very nice!
Below is a Constitution Day celebration we went to, also in September. It was great! Our local high school puts it on every year in a park with a dedicated "Spirit of '76" section. They act out the founding fathers, have period games, and a fife and drum playing. It was a great way to teach the kids a little more about our country and inspire feelings of patriotism.
 General George Washington:
And Martha Washington... (I never knew she had braces!) ;)
I think this was Thomas Jefferson...
And the kids had fun playing the games...
The weekend before we went camping, we let the kids "camp out" in the basement for a couple nights. We set up our smaller tent and they had a blast! We were also letting Grace cry it out a bit upstairs, so it served a dual purpose. :)
Big girl Grace sitting up in a shopping cart! Happy day. :)
Another beautiful day at the Nature Center in October. We hadn't been in a few months, so it was nice to go!
Connor was working hard building his dam in the creek.
School pictures! Love these cute boys.
Below - October 8th. The Nature Preserve behind the boys' school put on a [free!] Fall Festival this year and it was awesome! We were looking for something festive to do but everything was so ridiculously expensive when you multiply it by 5-6, so we thought we'd check it out, since the school had advertised it. Boy, did we score big time! There were very few people there (we got there an hour into it), and they had great activities! The kids all got to ride a pony (Eli a horse), paint a pumpkin, do a craft, eat a caramel apple and popcorn, go on a hayride, see a "Birds of Prey" demonstration, and pick out a pumpkin to take home since they had too many. Did I mention it was free? And just a few minutes away? It was great. It didn't quite feel like fall on that nearly 80 degree day, but it was very fun nonetheless.

Anna is very resourceful. :)
Getting ready for Halloween....I bet you can guess what someone in our house is going to be!
Grace all bundled at Connor's most recent soccer game. It was a chilly morning!
And a few more messy pictures of our little love.

It's been a great Autumn so far! Fall continues to be my favorite season. It has been beautiful lately and I love this time of year!!

Wow! There are so many awesome things going on in this post! here we go...Anna's face in that picture of Jeremy at the table on his birthday is hilarious. Your Pad Thai looks fabulous. I'll need that recipe once shrimp enters our food budget. Call me crazy, but I feel like Anna looks a lot like Connor/you in some of these pictures (especially the Jeremy shirt one). Um... I'm sorry my son was attacking Grace in some of those pictures, hahaha. Also, he looks SO pasty white next to Grace! Ha. You should send that praying mantis picture into National Geographic. Oh, my heart! That picture of Grace in the shopping cart! So adorable. I just want to squeeze her! Your boys look super handsome in their school pictures. Ok. I think that's all I have to say. Ha! :)
