Connor and Eli both played soccer this season, so that has been our Saturday life for the past couple months! Eli had his last game a couple weeks ago and Connor's was yesterday. Eli had the same coach as last season, who is really great. Despite hardly winning, he had a great time! Eli loves to play defense and made a LOT of improvements this season! He got a lot more brave and aggressive and had a lot of great blocks. We're also seeing a definite increase in Eli's energy levels since he's been on the gluten-free diet, so that is really exciting. He was a great asset to his team!
Above - good stop. Below - challenging that huge kid. Oh yeah, he won and kicked it up the field!Below - big kid on the ground. Haha - I can laugh because this team killed us.They had two kids that looked like 9 yr olds.
Below - doing jumping jacks with his friend and fellow defender Joan to warm up!
Going in for another kick...
Go Eli! Sadly, Eli had to miss a few games because they were on Sunday (grrr) but he still made it to quite a few and had a great season.
Connor had a blast this year too. The age group he's in is called the "Dribblers" (under age 6), and they don't play with goalies and the coaches get to be on the field with the kids to help them. They play four on four and it's boys and girls. Connor was so excited to be playing! The games were pretty entertaining and often consisted of several goals scored for the wrong team (Connor did this twice himself), but it was a great introduction. Connor's team did pretty well and Connor scored almost every game! He also often played the whole game simply because most of the other kids got tired or weren't interested and Connor always raised his hand and wanted to go in. :) The highlights of his season were probably watching him wind up for his big kicks (below) and seeing him score a goal from the kick-off. Haha.
And here he is at his last game holding his medal with pride!
The boys are sad it's over but I think we're all ready to have our Saturdays back for a little while. I'm sure they'll play again in the Spring!

Oh my goodness these pictures are the cutest ever!!! I love it! I'm so glad your boys had so much fun, and I'm especially glad to hear that Eli's strength/energy has improved! What a blessing that you discovered his diagnosis. I could use a few more pictures of that wind up, haha! Hilarious. :)
What a fun post! I loved all the pictures of the boys! They look like they are having so much fun playing soccer! I always enjoyed the fall weather when we would go and watch the kids play soccer. You have such a beautiful family.
